Conference Focus
The International Conference on Food Studies travels to Prato, Italy in 2014. The Conference will address a range of critically important issues and themes relating to the Food Studies community. Plenary speakers include some of the leading thinkers in these areas, as well as numerous paper, colloquium and workshop presentations.
We are inviting proposals for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, or colloquia (See
Proposal Types) addressing food studies through one of the following themes:
Food Production and Sustainability | Food, Nutrition and Health | Food Politics, Policies and Cultures |

We also offer participation options for those individuals who cannot attend the conference. Authors who wish to submit an article for potential publication in the
Food Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal may submit a
Proposal for Article Submission, while all members of the knowledge community with an accepted proposal may submit an
online presentation to the knowledge community YouTube channel.

The Tuscan Region and the Food Studies Conference Now in its fourth year, the Food Studies Conference makes its first foray internationally to Italy, the birth place of the Slow Foods movement, and will be held during the picturesque harvest season in Italy’s Tuscan Region. Aptly hosted just days before the bi-annual Terra Madre Festival, the Food Studies Conference in Prato, Italy is a perfect pre-curser bringing together researchers and academics from across the globe to discuss the food sciences and latest research in all their aspect directly before the renowned world meeting of food communities convenes in Turin.
